Is there an age limit to play the stock market?
My dad thinks I am old enough and smart enough to play the stock, but he wants to create the account in my name and age so the taxing is less for me? I am 16 is that to young
For most accounts you have to be 18, and go through a bunch of steps to prove you are of age. You can trade stock at a younger age though if you sign up for a “custodial account.” Your dad’s name might still have to be listed somewhere, but I think you would have the power to make all the decisions. Just make sure you read the fine print so you know for sure you are playing by the rules.
